Summary:

Listen to the The Girls podcast from Sadiehttp://bit.ly/SadiePodcast

A gripping novel about the depth of a sister's love; poised to be the next book you won't be able to stop talking about.

A missing girl on a journey of revenge and a Serial-like podcast following the clues she's left behind.

Sadie hasn't had an easy life. Growing up on her own, she's been raising her sister Mattie in an isolated small town, trying her best to provide a normal life and keep their heads above water.

But when Mattie is found dead, Sadie's entire world crumbles. After a somewhat botched police investigation, Sadie is determined to bring her sister's killer to justice and hits the road following a few meager clues to find him.

When West McCray—a radio personality working on a segment about small, forgotten towns in America—overhears Sadie's story at a local gas station, he becomes obsessed with finding the missing girl.

He starts his own podcast as he tracks Sadie's journey, trying to figure out what happened, hoping to find her before it's too late. Courtney Summers has written the breakout book of her career.

Sadie is propulsive and harrowing and will keep you riveted until the last page.

Review:

First, I want to thank Courtney Summers and Wednesday Books for sending me this book from an honest review.

This was such a beautiful, gut wrenching read. From the beginning of the book you enter a life a young girl who's never had it easy. She learns that the only real family member she fought so hard for was murdered. Sadie's life was completely shattered, so she runs away in search of the monster who killed her sister. This story is told in a series of serial podcast as well as through the voice of Sadie. We follow West McCray as he tries to uncover what exactly happened to Sadie after her car was found abandoned in a town. We also trail Sadie as she uncovers slowly where exactly this murderer is hiding and what his past hides.

I myself really love podcast especially murder and mystery thriller ones. I was in a binge not too long ago after listening to Serial. Which one of the most popular podcast out there. After, reading the synopsis of this book, I was completely enthralled and knew I had to pick it up. I loved where this story started, where it lead and the ending was completely heart wrenching. I felt so distressed and shattered by what Sadie was going through, It felt like she was a real person. Because in all true reality she is, there are so many girls out there who have been through this, or are even going through this right now. So, to pick up a book like this even if it wasn't at all fully detailed because its a young adult book, being a 26 year old adult you  can picture exactly whats going on between the lines.

All I could think of and all I wanted throughout this book was for West McCray to find and save Sadie. Ill leave that part for you to read because as a reader I want you to go through exactly, what I went through reading this book. So did he save her?

I'd like to keep this a bit short because its a experience and a read everyone should got through. You sometimes need to know exactly what this world is hiding. There are some trigger warning for pedophilia, drug abuse and as well sexual abuse. So give this a go if you're interested, I definitely recommend it.
